Due to fog, Shelby Eastern Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay today, Tuesday, October 1st. There will be no AM only PreK. Drive safely!

Good evening, parents. Due to a shortage of Bus Drivers tomorrow morning, Route # 7 will run on a delay. Once another Waldron-area Bus Driver has completed their primary route, they will then run Route # 7 on an approximate 1 hour delay. Students will not be counted tardy or punished because of this alteration. We apologize for this inconvenience and understand if you choose to transport your child yourself. Route # 7 will return to its regular schedule Friday afternoon.

MES Parents, The power at Morristown Elementary has been restored. We can't wait to see all those smiling faces back in our building on Monday. Have a great weekend!

Good evening Morristown parents, Crews from Duke Energy, our maintenance staff, and additional electrical contractors have worked into the evening to try to resolve our electrical issues that started this morning. There is some good news and bad news to share. Duke energy was able to repair the power line from the road to the school earlier this evening. That repair restored power to MHS and all of our systems are back up and running at the Jr. Sr. High School. Junior Senior High School Students will report per usual and bus routes will be running on their regular schedule tomorrow morning. The unfortunate news is, there is another significant electrical issue within MES that prevents us from restoring power, HVAC systems and much of the lighting within the school. Because this wasn't able to be repaired this evening MES will be on a virtual learning day tomorrow, Friday 8/16. Devices were sent home with 1st through 5th graders and teachers will communicate lessons/activites before 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Again, we do understand the inconvenience this causes our families and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the electrical issues. Summary: MES will be on virtual learning Friday, August 16th. There will be no Boys and Girls Club. Little Yellow Jackets Preschool/Daycare will not be operating.

Morristown Parents, Unfortunately, the power situation has not been able to be resolved. Duke Energy needs to cut power to the entire campus to try their next repair. At this time we believe it is in the best interest of the safety our students and staff to conduct an early dismissal at 11:45 a.m. We have called our bus drivers and asked them to arrive back at school and prepare for dismissal at 11:45 a.m. this morning. We understand this a huge inconvenicene for our families, but believe it is the best possible option at this juncture. If you are not able to arrange for someone to meet your children at home, please contact our central office where the phones are still working so we can coordinate. That number is 765-544-2246. We will keep any student at school who can't be dropped off at home safely. The car rider line will open as soon as buses are dismissed. Boys and Girls Club will also not be an option this afternoon. Blue river students will still be transported to Blue River this afternoon and returned to MHS at the end of the day. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide an update on the power outage situation later this afternoon. Thank you for your support.

Good morning MES/MHS families, Shortly before students arrived this morning a transformer just outside of MHS went down. This has caused a partial power outage at both MES and MHS. The phone system is currently down as well. Duke energy has been notified of the outage and will update us shortly as to when power will be restored. Remember, today is Early Release Wednesday! Students will be released 30 minutes early today (and every Wednesday). Parents of bus riders can expect their students to arrive to their afternoon bus stops approximately 30 minutes earlier today.

Parents, you must complete online registration in PowerSchool Enrollment Express for your students for the 2024-2025 School Year. Registrations do not roll over year-to-year. Even though your student may have a classroom assignment for this coming school year, until you enroll them, your student will not receive transportation or other support services. Need help? Registration for all SES schools for the 2024-2025 School Year is now open! This year, we have streamlined our process to make it smoother for parents and our schools. Online registration can be completed by computer or smartphone. We will also be offering in-person registration assistance at the Morristown campus from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, July 19th, and again at the Waldron campus from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, July 22nd -- both in-person registration assistance sessions will be located in the High Schools. Greetings Waldron parents, On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the walls of the new elementary school gymnasium will be raised. This is an exciting development in our Envision 2025 plan, but will create some temporary inconveniences. This process includes deliveres from more than 40 semi-trailers. These trucks will start arriving on campus around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Their path will not impede student drop-off or pick-up lines, but it could cause some delays getting in or out of our campus for the next couple of days.
