At the May 28th meeting of the Shelby Eastern School Board, the board approved Mr. Jim Tush as the next principal of Morristown Elementary School. We are truly excited to welcome him into that role and know he is going to continue the tradition of excellence we expect at MES. Welcome Mr. Jim Tush.
Mr. Tush began his career teaching at I.P.S. #114, after student teaching there, he was offered a teaching position at Lantern Road Elementary School, in Fishers, the next school year. After teaching in Fishers for two years, his wife Amy, was hired as the Head Women’s Cross Country Coach at Northwestern University. He left his position as a teacher and postponed completing his degree in Elementary Administration, moving with his wife Amy to the Chicago area. After staying home for a year with the couples newborn daughter Jamey, Mr. Tush taught in an elementary school in Glenview Illinois welcoming their second daughter Cynthia around that same time. After completing his administrative degree, he accepted a position as a 5th grade teacher and assistant principal at St. Joseph School in Wilmette, Illinois.
After serving in that role for eight years, Mr. Tush took an opportunity to return to Indiana, taking on the role of principal at St. Mary’s School in Aurora, Indiana. Mr. Tush also served as principal at St. Joseph in Shelbyville prior to the pandemic. Mr. Tush then returned to Rushville where he is from to teach and serve as Dean of students at RES. In the fall of 2024 Mr. Tush was hired on as teacher at MES and is truly excited to continue working as an administrator in our district.
“I have the honor of being the principal at Morristown Elementary School, and I am ecstatic about the opportunity. I look forward to continuing working with the children and parents of the Morristown area.” - Mr. Jim Tush
