Ms. Marie Godar has received our staff Jacket Sting Award from Mrs. Dana Songer. Here is what Mrs. Songer had to say:
Mrs. Godar is a remarkable individual who truly deserves recognition for her exceptional work as a teacher. Mrs. Godar consistently goes above and beyond to support students and fellow teachers alike. She is constantly lending a helping hand and offering guidance. Her commitment to encouraging a positive and collaborative work environment has made a significant impact on MES. Her dedication she brings to the classroom is equally impressive, ensuring that every student feels encouraged and empowered to reach their full potential. Her passion for teaching and belief in the power of education are truly commendable. Mrs. Godar deserves to be recognized and celebrated for her outstanding commitment to both students and colleagues alike.

Special thank you to Arianna Roller and Ms. Godar for sharing about genius hour this evening!

Good Morning! Tomorrow (Thursday, December 14th), photographers will be here to take candid pictures for our yearbook, as well as club and sport group pictures. We hope to see some great smiles tomorrow!
Have a great day!

A special thank you to our local Girl Scouts and their leader, Megan Ramsey, for collecting canned goods for our food pantry!

This past Wednesday was National Mitten Tree Day. Our second grade students have been working to collect mittens for those in need. What a great way to give back! :)

This week's Positive Office Referrals! :)

A reminder that tomorrow is our first Festive Friday! We encourage students and staff to participate by wearing their best Christmas gear (Santa hats, ugly Christmas sweaters, Christmas PJ's, etc.) Look forward to seeing all the cheer! :)

Hope to see many students and staff participate in our Festive Fridays!

Next week, students will have the option to participate in shopping from The Penguin Patch at school! Flyers should be coming home today (if they haven't already) with information. This is a great opportunity for students to do some holiday shopping on their own to buy gifts for loved ones at relatively low prices. We hope they enjoy! Thank you to our PTA for organizing this event.
Have a great weekend!

Mrs. Reighley's class learning about fractions!

We didn't quite make our goal, but we did bring in 600 items today for a total of 1,600 to donate to the MHS Food Pantry. That is great!
Congratulations to Mrs. Collier's 5th grade class on bringing in the most items this week!
Have a great weekend!

Good Morning! A few notes as we head into the weekend:
1. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our food drive this week! I will send out a message later today with our final totals---maybe even a picture of me in the corn suit!
2. Midterm reports will be coming home with students in grades 1-5 today. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's teacher.
3. Next week is a short week as school will only be in session Monday and Tuesday. Starting Wednesday, we will be on Thanksgiving Break. Students will return on Monday, November 27th.
Have a great day!

This week's Positive Office Referrals!

Tomorrow is the final day of our can food drive. Currently, we have collected around 1,000 items. Our goal is 2,000 by the end of the day tomorrow. Hopefully we can meet our goal in order to see Mr. Corn in his corn suit one more time!
Thanks!

Good Afternoon! A few announcements as we head into the weekend:
1. Next week is our annual Can Food Drive. Our goal as a school is to collect 2,000 items during the week. Our daily goal is to collect 400 items each day. If the daily goal is met, Mr. Corn will dress in a corn suit during dismissal! In addition to this, there will be daily drawings and a pizza party for the class that brings in the most items.
2. Thank you to everyone for an outstanding week! Our book fair was very successful! We had two well-attended grandparent breakfasts, a fun Academic Night/Fall Dinner, and a meaningful Veterans' Day program. It has been a great week!
3. Lastly, a special thank you to all veterans. It is because of your dedication to our country that we live in the land of the free and home of the brave! We will be forever grateful!
Have a great weekend!
