At Waldron Jr.-Sr. High School, we are committed to creating a focused and distraction-free learning environment where every Mohawk can thrive.
In compliance with Indiana Senate Enrolled Act 78, new state legislation requires a strict "Bell-to-Bell" policy regarding personal electronic devices during the school day.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what this means for our Mohawks:
🚫 Devices Included: Cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, personal laptops, and Bluetooth headphones/earbuds.
🔒 Where do devices go? Powered OFF and stored in your locker, left in your vehicle, or left at home.
🚫 Lunch & Passing Periods: Devices are NOT permitted during passing periods or lunch.
✔️ Exceptions: Statutory exceptions apply for documented IEP/504 Plans, medical needs, or language translation.
⚠️ Consequences: Failure to follow the policy may result in detention, suspension, or confiscation per the Student Handbook.
Let’s work together to build a distraction-free environment where our students THRIVE! 💙

Thank you!
It is with great excitement and sincere gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Waldron Jr.-Sr. High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve your students, your families, and the entire Waldron community.
As I begin this new chapter, I want you to know how excited my family and I are to become part of this wonderful community. Throughout my 29 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, assistant principal, athletic director, principal, and superintendent. Each of those experiences has reinforced one simple belief: every decision we make should be centered on what is best for students.
Waldron has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, school pride, and strong community support. I am honored to join a district where those values are evident, and I look forward to building upon the outstanding work already taking place. My goal is to work alongside our exceptional teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members to ensure that every student is challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.
I believe that strong schools are built on strong relationships. Open communication, mutual respect, and trust between home and school are essential to student success. I encourage you to stay actively involved in your child's education and in the life of our school. Together, we can create an environment where every student feels safe, valued, connected, and inspired to learn.
As principal, I am committed to being a visible and approachable leader who listens, values collaboration, and celebrates the many successes of our students and staff. I also believe in maintaining high expectations while providing the support and opportunities necessary for every student to thrive—academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.
I am eager to meet each of you in the coming weeks, whether at school events, athletic competitions, performances, or simply around our community. Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself, share your thoughts, or reach out if I can ever be of assistance. My door will always be open, and I look forward to developing meaningful relationships with our families.
Thank you for welcoming me into the Waldron family. I am truly excited about the future of Waldron Jr.-Sr. High School and all that we will accomplish together. I look forward to an outstanding school year filled with learning, growth, achievement, and memorable experiences for every student.
Together, we will continue to honor Waldron's proud traditions while preparing our students for bright and successful futures.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your support.
Go Mohawks!
Warm regards,
Jim Jameson, Ed.S.
Principal
Waldron Jr.-Sr. High School
Mr. Jameson brings nearly three decades of educational leadership experience to Waldron, having served students, educators, and communities throughout Indiana as a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Principal, and Superintendent. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to creating schools where every student is challenged academically, supported personally, and prepared for success beyond graduation.
Most recently, Mr. Jameson served as Superintendent of Rush County Schools, where he led district-wide initiatives focused on improving student achievement, expanding college and career opportunities, strengthening school safety, supporting teacher development, maintaining strong fiscal stewardship, and building meaningful partnerships with families and community stakeholders.
Prior to serving as superintendent, Mr. Jameson spent thirteen years as Principal of South Decatur Jr.-Sr. High School, where he developed a reputation as a relationship-focused instructional leader committed to academic excellence, student engagement, and building positive school culture. Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at South Decatur Jr.-Sr. High School and as a teacher at both Greensburg High School and Kokomo High School.
Mr. Jameson earned his Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University, Master’s degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University and his bachelor's degree from Anderson University. His leadership philosophy is built on integrity, collaboration, transparency, and the belief that strong relationships are the foundation for outstanding schools.
Outside of education, family has always been the center of Mr. Jameson's life. He has been married to his wife, Denise, for thirteen years. Together they have a wonderful blended family that includes daughters Alexa (23) and Brenley (18), along with stepchildren Cody (Amanda), Cole (Molly), and Cayla (Ryan). They are also proud grandparents to Cruz, Cai, Caden, and Cameron, who bring tremendous joy to their lives.
As he begins this new chapter, Mr. Jameson is excited to become part of the Waldron community and looks forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, alumni, and community members.
"I am incredibly honored and humbled to join Waldron Jr.-Sr. High School and the Shelby Eastern School Corporation. From my first interactions with district leadership, it was evident that Waldron is a community that values its schools, supports its students, and takes great pride in its traditions. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside our outstanding teachers, staff, students, families, and community members as we continue building upon the many strengths that already exist. Together, we will create an environment where every student is known, challenged, supported, and prepared for a successful future."
