Rules of Gym Class

1. No Gum or candy

2. No jewelry: for the safety of you and others

3. Uniforms are required

4. If you fail to be in uniform 6 times you fail the class

5. Respect your classmates, yourself, and the teachers

6. Be ready to participate

 

Monday and Wednesdays and Fridays are fitness days. Be prepared to do physical activates.

 

Tuesdays and Thursdays are game days. Be prepared to play games to work on those skills.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
HEALTH and PHYSICAL EDUCATION

All students are required to take 2 semesters of Physical Education and 1 semester of Health.

Course:            Physical Education I                                                                          3542   

Credit:             1 credit for each semester, 2 required

Grades:            9-12

Description:     This course continues the emphasis on health related fitness and developing the skills and habits necessary for a lifetime of activity. This program includes three of the following: fitness activities (cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition) aerobic exercise, team sports, individual sports, and recreational games.  Ongoing assessments include both written and performance based assessments. Classes may be coeducational bases on objective standard.  *CORE 40+

 

Course:            Elective Physical Education                                                               3560

Credits:            1-6

Grades:            10-12

Description:     This course promotes lifetime sport and recreational activities and provides an opportunity for an in-depth study in specific areas.  A minimum of two of the following activities should be included: health-related fitness and strength building routines, team sports, individual or dual sports, or outdoor pursuits.  Students have the opportunity to design an appropriate personal fitness program that enables them to achieve a desired level of fitness; ongoing assessment includes both written and performance-based skill evaluation. *CORE 40+
