Course Description

Students sing repertoire representing various styles and cultures. They sing accurately and expressively from a score and from memory and use proper vocal technique. They sing interpedently and in large and small ensembles, and they respond to the cues of a conductor. 

Academic State Standards

  1. Sing using proper vocal technique including body language.

  2. Singing music in 4 parts, with a difficulty level of 4 (on scale of 1-6)

  3. Sing an independent vocal part with other ensemble members while maintaining balance and a blend of volume and tone quality.

  4. Learn conducting patterns and techniques and follow cues of the teacher and student conductors.

  5. Sing a variety of repertoire in a variety of styles in small ensembles.
